John Denver, a singer-songwriter of Colorado that specialized in folk-pop music touched the hearts of millions. Born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, the singer-songwriter fell in the love of Colorado and eventually moved to Aspen. Denver's anthems of fame about Colorado have inspired many people to relocate to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared that John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver was the very initial Hall of Fame inductee in the year 2011. Denver has been the symbol of the state to many people across the globe. Certainly in my travels you come across someone on the opposite end of the planet, or someone from New Zealand and you say 'I'm of Colorado and the very first thing that comes they say is"Oh John Denver! Brown stated. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff - was Denver's first Top 10 single as a solo artist following a short stint in small folk bands. Danoff composed the tune in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized its potential after hearing it first. Just a few days after performing to an excited audience in Washington D.C., the singer recorded this song.
